SAQA Annual Auction
All regions have been challenged to see which region can get the most quilts entered into the SAQA 2018 Benefit Auction. This should be easy for Europe and the ME as we have one of the biggest memberships - so let's see if we can win some money for the region!
The Benefit Auction is a win-win. You donate a 12 inch by 12 inch quilt to SAQA. They auction it and you get lots of publicity and promotion for your work. It is best to make the auction quilt in the same recognisable style as most of your work.
The image is one which Fenella Davies of the UK donated last year.
The instructions for the Benefit Action are not yet on the main SAQA website. I will post again when they are. In the meantime, you can start working, please.
This is the challenge as issued by Desi Vaughn, the Reps Coordinator to all regions.
"I am challenging you to get your members involved and have some friendly rivalry fun. For the 2018 Benefit Auction, two regions with the highest percentage of participation will get $250 each towards a regional event. One award will go to a region with 100 members or less and another award to the region with 101 members or more.
Online submissions for these 12"x12" pieces will open in February. We will be collecting quilts at the conference in San Antonio, so bring them to the conference! The deadline is June 1, 2018.
Let's see how much fun we can have with this! "
