"Generosity" By Maria Billings
“Generosity” shows people around the globe sharing fruits and vegetables, as a sign of holding together during hard times.
Simplifying the complexity of the composition widened my horizon: combining many, many sketches of different hands (different skin colors, different ages) into one composition was a new challenge for me.
The art quilt is is painted with acrylics and hand-quilted. Took two years to complete. The original inspiration came from the call for "World Without Hunger". Both inspiration and processes are documented in a YouTube mini-series "How to create an art quilt”:
