there are many celebrations going on to
commemorate the first big War (1914-18). The last post is played every evening
at the Menin gate in Ypres. The red
poppies are a symbol of WWII since the Canadian lieutenant-colonel John McCray wrote a poem about this flower
that grew over the graves of the fallen soldiers.
